Our Journey

The company was founded in 2002 as Central European Science Journals, subsequently rebranded as Versita, and in 2017 became Sciendo. Our trajectory has been one of growth and innovation, starting with the launch of our first academic journals in 2003 and making large strides in open-access society journal publishing from 2006 onwards. 

Today, the breadth of our services has increased, including closed, open and hybrid solutions for books, journals and conference proceedings. Our focus is to maximise the impact of our publisher partners and to support their continued financial sustainability and independence.
